KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It wasn’t long after Kauffman Stadium was evacuated late Monday afternoon because of tornado warnings and all those inside sent to the tunnel that serves as the storm shelter between The K and Arrowhead Stadium located across the parking lot that the game between the Rays and Royals was postponed.
It will be made up today in a doubleheader. Game 1 is scheduled to begin at 2:10 p.m., with Game 2 scheduled for 8:10 p.m.
“We knew it was going to be a little dicey,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said.
“There’s been some rough weather, but this was probably the smart thing for everybody.
