Corey Kluber gets knee injection, to miss All-Star Game

CLEVELAND -- Indians ace Corey Kluber received an injection in his right knee on Friday that will force him to miss the All-Star Game.

The two-time Cy Young winner, who lost to the New York Yankees on Thursday, will need at least one week to recover from the injection. He will not make his next start until July 23 against Pittsburgh.

Blake Snell of the Tampa Bay Rays will replace Kluber on the American League All-Star roster. The game will be played Tuesday in Washington.

Kluber has given up 19 runs over his last 34 innings, an uncharacteristic stretch for one of baseball's best pitchers.
