Over the course of the 2017 campaign, Brandon Lowe has put himself firmly on the Tampa Bay Rays prospect map. After failing to crack their top 30 prospect list at the start of the season, the second baseman has had a breakout campaign for the Charlotte Stone Crabs. He was an All Star in the Florida State League, and had produced a .311/.403/.524 batting line with 34 doubles and nine homers. It was clear that Lowe had nothing left to prove in Charlotte.
The Rays have finally agreed with that assessment. Both Lowe and catcher Brett Sullivan have been promoted to the AA Montgomery Biscuits, as they get one step closer to the majors.
