ST. PETERSBURG -- Jake Bauers is bringing the lumber and the lightning.
The rookie first baseman ignited the Rays throughout Monday night's game against the Yankees at Tropicana Field, following up a smart baserunning play by crushing a 1-1 pitch from Luis Severino with two aboard in the fifth into the right-field stands for a tiebreaking homer, Bauers' sixth.
In the first inning, Bauers used his speed to give the Rays their first lead, 1-0.

Bauers doubled off Severino with two outs, then scored from second base on a passed ball that kicked off catcher Gary Sanchez's leg and scooted into foul territory on the third-base side.
