Archer continues to struggle, gives up six runs in Rays loss

BOSTON – The Chris Archer saga continues.

The Rays Opening Day starter, who was an All-Star last year, turned in his shortest outing of the season Wednesday night at Fenway Park in the Rays 7-3 loss to the Red Sox.

The Red Sox have always been a tough matchup for Archer. Add Archer’s poor start to this season and Wednesday was one rough outing for the right-hander.

Archer lasted 4 1/3 innings, his shortest outing of the year.

He allowed eight hits and six runs.

He’s now 0-4 with a 7.32 ERA.

Archer hasn’t won since Aug.
