ST. PETERSBURG -- Rays starter Matt Andriese exited Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the A's at Tropicana Field with a groin strain. Andriese appeared to feel something while warming up to pitch the second inning. He allowed a run on three hits while striking out one in the first, throwing 21 pitches in the frame.
Andriese was activated off the 10-day disabled list prior to his start. The right-hander last pitched on May 30 at Texas and had to leave the game in the second inning, also due to a strained groin.
