Adeiny Hechavarria wins arbitration case

According to Bob Nightengale, the Rays filed at $5.3M and Hechavarria countered with $5.9M. The two sides couldn’t come to a resolution prior to the arbitration deadline back in January. The Rays are among the many teams who employ a ‘File and Trial’ system, meaning failure to reach an agreement before the deadline results in an arbitration hearing.

Adeiny Hechavarria joined the Rays in June of 2017 in a trade from the Miami Marlins. He showcased his incredible glove work upon his arrival. His offensive production, never seen as his strength, did pick up as the season progressed.
