Are the Rays considering not trading David Price?

In this Rays rumors and news update, the Tampa Bay Rays might be considering holding on to star pitcher David Price, despite his increasing market value as the July 31st non-waiver trade deadline approaches.

According to MLB Trade Rumors' Jeff Todd (via information obtained for ESPN's Jim Bowden), "the Rays are in no hurry to deal ace David Price, and some possible trade partners increasingly believe that he will not change hands before the deadline. The club still wants to see if a post-season run remains possible; though the club sits 9.5 games back at the break, the division does still look somewhat vulnerable."

If the Tampa Bay Rays sign off on moving Price, they could receive a coup bigger than what the Cubs received in dealing both Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel (super-prospect shortstop Addison Russell being part of that).

However, the Rays are taking the time to survey their options while ignoring the ticking clock on the trade market wall.
