After being drafted in the first round (1st overall) by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Stamkos would immediately have an opportunity to make an impact on the league.
The very next season, Stamkos would make his on-ice debut with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Stamkos made his NHL debut on October 4, 2008, as the Tampa Bay Lightning took on the New York Rangers right here in the Bolts Nation.
