The Syracuse Crunch went 1-1-1 this week against the Utica Comets, Rochester Americans, and Utica Comets (for a second time). There was a pretty strong correlation between starting slow, getting scored on first, and losing during this week. The Crunch did all three in their first two games, losing 2-1 and 3-1 respectively, but were able to avoid those problems in the Sunday matinee, winning it 5-2.
Over the course of the week, the Crunch lost goalies Samuel Montembeault and Spencer Martin to the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning taxi squads. They also lost Brady Keeper and Ben Thomas on defense.
