Stamkos returns to form, helping Bolts take control

Tampa Bay Lightning

TAMPA — With drive in his stride, Lightning captain Steven Stamkos skated alone down the slot with a strong sense of determination. Confidently, the two-time Rocket Richard Trophy winner stared down goaltender Carey Price, faked to his backhand, deked to his forehand and stuffed the puck into the vacant side of the net.

It was a spotlight moment for a player who stands center stage most nights, but had felt the glare after going without a goal for the opening eight games of the postseason.

But Stamkos finally found the net at a key moment of Game 2 to give Tampa Bay its first lead in a 6-2 victory on Sunday.
