Stamkos denies he's playing hurt for struggling Bolts

DETROIT – With the Tampa Bay Lightning struggling to score goals, the team’s top goal scorer gets the attention for the lack of success.

So after being shut out twice in the span of three games, a lot of the focus for Tampa Bay’s poor offensive showing shifted on center Steven Stamkos for two days heading into tonight’s Game 6 at Joe Louis Arena.

Stamkos has no goal in the first five games of the series and only two assists, both coming in a 5-1 victory in Game 2.

With the lack of playoff production from the second-leading goal scorer in the regular season, many have started to speculate that perhaps Stamkos is playing injured.
