TAMPA - Coach Jon Cooper called wing Ryan Callahan "extremely doubtful" to play in tonight's Game 6 against Montreal, but Cooper never officially ruled Callahan out, despite the veteran forward having an emergency appendectomy Monday night.

"Stranger things could happen," Cooper said after today's morning skate. "How long is the game from now? He's a pretty tough kid."

Callahan stayed overnight at Tampa General Hospital but has been released, according to the hospital. Cooper hasn't talked to Callahan since he left the hospital.

Cooper said when Callahan returns will depend on his pain tolerance.
