Tampa Bay Lightning
TAMPA — The bigger the challenge facing the Tampa Bay Lightning, the bigger their 6-foot-7 goaltender seems to play.
For the second consecutive playoff round, Ben Bishop came up with a stellar effort in a deciding game as Tampa Bay advanced to the Eastern Conference finals with a 4-1 victory against the frustrated and outplayed Montreal Canadiens.
Bishop, who missed last year’s playoff series against Montreal with an elbow injury, entered the postseason with more to prove than any Lightning player. Now, with Tampa Bay halfway to the 16 playoff wins required for a Stanley Cup title, he keeps providing his team with a comfort level in the most trying circumstances.
