LOS ANGELES — Tampa Bay hoped to end a three-game road trip with a California gold rush.
The Lightning instead had to settle for mining some valuable points out of a three-game swing through California.
Tampa Bay dropped the final game of the trip, 3-1 to Los Angeles on Sunday.
The Lightning are off until hosting Ottawa on Thursday.
“Coming out here taking four out of six points, I think if we would have said that before the trip we would probably have taken it,’’ defenseman Victor Hedman said. “But after a game like this you feel like you could have taken six points.
