TAMPA – Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall said he’s “extremely disappointed” the league suspended him for tonight’s Game 7 against the Lightning but that he put himself in the situation – even if he doesn’t understand the decision.
Kronwall said he hasn’t slept well the last two nights and said it was difficult to hear the decision Tuesday night.
“Obviously not one of the best moments of my life,” Kronwall said. “But there’s not much I could do, really.”
Kronwall was suspended after the league determined he left his feet and launched himself high into Lightning wing Nikita Kucherov.
