The Lightning weren’t happy with their play in Game One and knew they’d need to be better in Game Two if they hoped to earn a split before the series shifts to Amalie Arena. They were better in Game Two and did earn a split. But the Lightning still had some hiccups in this game, which was a lot closer than the final score might indicate.
Having written that, the Lightning received some monster performances tonight. Tyler Johnson led the way offensively with a hat trick, while his Triplets linemates – Ondrej Palat and Nikita Kucherov – also were excellent.
