Lightning Round: bad night for Bolts, worse night for Oilers

While the Tampa Bay Lightning took a loss to Chicago on Thursday night, they didn’t have it nearly as bad as the Edmonton Oilers, who were embarrassed by the San Jose Sharks — now on a two-game winning streak — in a 3-2 loss. That result has shockingly put the Oilers tied with the Sharks for last in the NHL with only five (FIVE!) points through 12 games. Only the Flames are also in single digits in points. For a team many expected to win the Cup, this is a deep, deep collapse.

To pour salt in the wound, Jack Campbell allowed four goals on 20 shots in his first game back in the AHL, a 4-1 loss to the Abbotsford Canucks.
