TAMPA — Three years ago this month, Alex Killorn was in the Harvard Yard with his graduating class. His family looked on. He was in the middle of the American Hockey League playoffs, too, for Jon Cooper’s Norfolk Admirals, who were on their way to a Calder Cup championship. But there was break in the action, so Killorn walked at Harvard University’s commencement exercises, receiving a degree in government and political science. He tossed his cap in the air.
“That was special to me,” Killorn said. And to his parents. Cindy Killorn taught college when her three children were young.
