EDMONTON, Alberta — The midpoint of the season arrives for the Lightning today.
To say the first half has been a disappointment would be like saying it’s cold in Edmonton in January.
With inconsistent play keeping Tampa Bay out of a playoff position for most of the season, the Lightning have underachieved a season after advancing to the Stanley Cup Final.
Underachieving teams generally see changes on the roster.
Should the Lightning be concerned about potential changes? Should next month’s trade deadline be cause for trepidation?
“We are not worried about that stuff, that’s still a long ways away, and we can’t control that other than the fact that we want to be buyers at the deadline,” captain Steven Stamkos said.
