TAMPA — Two Montreal Canadiens, Brendan Gallagher and Dale Weise, were playing football catch in an Amalie Arena hall. It was about an hour before Game 4 with the Lightning. Weise joked with a passerby.
“Hey, we’ve got to get them eventually.”
Eventually arrived Thursday evening, about the time the puck dropped.
Worried yet?
The streak is over after eight straight wins over Montreal. The brooms have been swept from Lightning hands. And in a most embarrassing way: A 6-2 laugher for the Canadiens, from the edge of a cliff, no less.
From broom to doom?
