Tampa Bay Lightning
TAMPA — If Jameis Winston wasn’t a hockey fan before Wednesday night, he is now.
The heralded rookie quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers watched Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals from an Amalie Arena suite and saw the Lightning generate the kind of dynamic, high-tempo attack Winston hopes to direct on NFL fields this fall.
Beating world-class goaltender Henrik Lundqvist six times for the second consecutive matchup, Tampa Bay topped the New York Rangers 6-5 in overtime to take a 2-1 series lead heading into tonight’s Game 4.
It was the 14th time in 15 playoff games this season the Rangers played a game decided by one goal.
