MONTREAL — After a grueling 48-hour stretch to end last week, the Lightning regained their legs.
Tampa Bay seized control of the Eastern Conference Semifinal series with a 6-2 victory against Montreal in Game 2 at Bell Centre.
Nikita Kucherov scored twice while Steven Stamkos finished with three points, including his first goal of the playoffs, to lift the Lightning to a 2-0 series lead as the scene shifts back to Tampa for Games 3 and 4 starting Wednesday at Amalie Arena.
Valtteri Filppula had a goal and two assists, Victor Hedman had a goal and an assist while Alex Killorn and Tyler Johnson added a pair of assists each.
