TAMPA — Trade talks appear to be heating up regarding disgruntled LW Jonathan Drouin.
Drouin’s agent went public on Jan. 3 with a trade request made back in November. Since then, a possible trade involving the former No. 3 overall draft pick has been the talk in NHL circles.
After a handful of deals around the NHL have gone down since then — Ryan Johansen, Seth Jones, Vinny Lecavalier and Luke Schenn among them — eyes remain focused on the Lightning and what general manager Steve Yzerman will do with Drouin.
A highly skilled forward, Drouin has been able to establish a steady role in the Lightning’s top two lines.
