Bolts Notes: Drouin situation remains unresolved

SUNRISE — The holdout of LW Jonathan Drouin reached its third day on Saturday with no clear direction on when the situation may be resolved.

Drouin was suspended indefinitely by the team after he refused to suit up for a game with Syracuse in the American Hockey League, in part to prevent the chance of injury until the team grants a trade request that went public earlier this month.

Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said Thursday that he continues to “aggressively’’ pursue a trade for Drouin, but there is no timetable on resolving the situation.

Some reports, meanwhile, suggest that some teams have backed off from trade talks since Drouin started his holdout, which Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman mentioned during an interview on CHED radio in Edmonton.
