Bolts notes: Brian Boyle's absence grows more mysterious

Tampa Bay Lightning

NEW YORK — The mysterious absence of C Brian Boyle took on added intrigue on Monday prior to Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals at Madison Square Garden.

Boyle missed the series opener on Saturday and did not practice with the team on Sunday with an undisclosed injury, though he did practice with the team the day before the series began.

His status has been called day-to-day by the team.

Monday morning, however, during the team’s optional morning practice, Boyle stepped on the ice and skated for about 15-20 minutes. When head coach Jon Cooper was asked if he could provide any more details regarding Boyle’s status since he was skating, the answer continued to be as vague as possible.
