Bolts need more scoring depth to challenge Rangers

Tampa Bay Lightning

NEW YORK — During the regular season, the Lightning used a deep and balanced attack to lead the league in goals.

In the postseason, however, the depth does not look quite as menacing as it was when teams had to pick their poison as to which line they wanted to try to slow down.

Tampa Bay has five 20-goal scorers on its roster — Steven Stamkos, Tyler Johnson, Ondrej Palat, Nikita Kucherov and Ryan Callahan — and three players registered hat tricks this season, including Stamkos, Johnson and Kucherov.

Overall, the Lightning finished with 10 players who reached double digits in goals, including nine forwards.
