Bolts hire NBC's Engblom to replace Taylor as TV color analyst

The Tampa Bay Lightning have hired national hockey broadcaster Brian Engblom as color analyst, replacing Bobby “The Chief” Taylor, who is moving to a studio role for team telecasts on Sun Sports.

Engblom will work next to play-by-play announcer Rick Peckham, the team announced Tuesday.

Engblom, 60, is a veteran of national telecasts, working most recently for NBC and NBC Sports Network as an “inside the glass” analyst. He has also worked as an analyst for Winnipeg Jets telecasts on Canada’s TSN, as well as for ESPN, Versus and the Columbus Blue Jackets.

“I am thrilled to be going to such a terrific organization on and off the ice,” Engblom said in a news release from the Lightning.
