The national media views the Tampa Bay Lightning as an underdog in tonight’s Eastern Conference Final Game 7 against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, mostly because of the Rangers home success in similar scenarios.
Much has been written about New York’s Game 7 prosperity. The Rangers are 7-0 all-time in Game 7s at Madison Square Garden and have won their last six Game 7s.
But the Lightning have Game 7 experience too, and that point shouldn’t be taken lightly.
Earlier in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Tampa Bay won a Game 7 versus Detroit 2-0 to close out the Red Wings in the First Round.
