TAMPA — Lightning winger Ryan Callahan and defenseman Braydon Coburn weren’t groomed through the Lightning organization, but they have grown to appreciate the organization’s bond with its fan base.
Callahan was acquired from the Rangers late last season in the Marty St. Louis deal, and Coburn came to Tampa Bay from Philadelphia two months ago. After playing in major Northeast markets, Coburn and Callahan have been surprised by the keen NHL interest exhibited around town.
“The fans are extremely passionate about this hockey club,’’ Coburn said.
