The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense is not playing good football today. Or, to be more precise: the Bucs passing offense is not playing good football—Doug Martin is doing just fine.
So when the Bucs got the ball down 13-7 at the end of the first half, no one expected them to pass their way into field goal range, let alone a touchdown. And sure enough they didn’t. Instead, the Patriots just gave them 30 yards on penalties to set up a 56-yard field goal.
The Bucs were on their own 27-yard line with nine seconds left in the first half, and for some reason didn’t decide to just kneel it out and go to the locker room.
