The Bears give Roberto Aguayo a second chance

The Chicago Bears have picked up Roberto Aguayo off waivers, where he’ll compete with another former Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker in Connor Barth, per ESPN’s Field Yates. Not sure why Chicago wants the guys who couldn’t hack it in Tampa, but there you have it.

Aguayo was cut on Saturday, after he missed two of his three kicks in the team’s first preseason game of 2017 against the Cincinnati Bengals. His mechanics still looked out of whack, and given his consistent struggles last year and some struggles during the offseason, the Bucs cut their losses and moved on from their former second-round pick.
