Mandatory minicamp has officially begun for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. To the surprise (and dismay) of drama-seeking headlines, Haason Reddick was in attendance.
The Buccaneers signed Reddick earlier this offseason, as a potential free agent fix for their woeful pass-rush. Calijah Kancey led the Buccaneers in sacks a season ago with 7.5, however, Tampa’s edge-rushers were led by a mere 4.5 courtesy of Yaya Diaby.
News of Reddick’s signing –as well as his absenteeism from voluntary workouts– were met with scrutiny from some, due to off-beat nature of his career trajectory. Reddick plays a premium, highly coveted position and for the better portion of his career he has played it well.
