Charles Sims to injured reserve for Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had to make a rather drastic move: running back Charles Sims has been placed on injured reserve.

The third-year back had been the team’s lead running back for the past two games, after Doug Martin went down with an injury in week two. Martin is expected back after next week’s bye.

Sims rushed for just 116 yards and one touchdown on 41 carries this season, but had an impressive 112 receiving yards and a touchdown on just 14 catches. He was the team’s main receiving and change of pace back, after putting up over 1,000 yards from scrimmage in a similar role last season.
