Bucs hope Dye injects speed into WR corps

TAMPA — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ wide receiving corps is a big one, but it’s not necessarily a fast one. The Bucs are hoping to change that with the addition of rookie Donteea Dye.

A Division III product out of Heidelberg University, Dye was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster this week, but it’s not just his speed that earned him the promotion.

“He’s a guy who’s worked his way up,’’ Bucs offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter said of Dye. “He made the team as an undrafted rookie and he’s flashed every day in practice and made plays against our defense in practice.
