On Friday, the Buccaneers announced that they had signed their Defensive Coordiantor, Mike Smith, to a multi-year agreement. Smith had previously been in talks to become another team's head coach, but news broke on Thursday night that Smith had withdrawn his name from consideration for those jobs and will remain in Tampa.
