TAMPA — Devin White was supposed to celebrate signing a four-year deal with a fifth-year option on Sunday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Instead, he spent the day mourning the loss of his beloved 5-year-old horse Daisy Mae, who according to White died of dehydration and heat exhaustion Saturday night.

White and Mae made headlines earlier this year when the 21-year-old rode her to a final exam, simply tying her to a tree while he took the test in December. He also rode her into LSU’s Tiger Stadium.
