It was breath-holding time late in Wednesday's training camp practice for the Bucs when cornerback Brent Grimes got tangled with a receiver and crumpled to the ground holding his lower right leg.
However, the injury wasn't serious.
Grimes, 34, suffered a lacerated right leg near his shin and was carted off the football field. As a precaution, the Bucs may not play him in Friday's preseason opener at Cincinnati.
"It was a laceration. I think he got a spike,'' Bucs coach Dirk Koetter said. "It was kind of a nasty-looking laceration on his shin. I think he'll be fine.
