Jacquies Smith was unable to practice on Tuesday and without him, Howard Jones worked with the first team on the Bucs’ right defensive end while Robert Ayers worked on the left side. Jones burst on the scene last year, picking up five sacks in as many starts. He also returned a fumble for a touchdown. Jones appeared in 12 games in 2015 after playing in 0 during his rookie season with the Steelers.

2. The Bucs are working in the rookies slowly.
The Bucs’ first and second rounds picks, Vernon Hargreaves and Noah Spence, worked with the twos during Tuesday’s practice as they continue to become acclimated to the NFL.
