The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had one of the best linebacker corps in the entire NFL in 2019. Lavonte David, Devin White, Shaquil Barrett, and Jason Pierre-Paul comprised a formidable unit that set the tone for the rest of the defense.
One of the brightest spots of the defense was Barrett. After joining the Buccaneers as a free agent from Denver, most expectations were that Barrett would be a backup piece for Carl Nassib or Noah Spence. This was a short-lived way of thinking because Barrett quickly won the starting job and didn’t give it up.
