The competition for the Bucs’ nickel cornerback job became a two-man race when the Buccaneers announced on Tuesday that they had released Jude Adjei-Barimah. McClain was working with the Bucs’ starting defense on Tuesday, but Javien Elliott has also taken a significant number of snaps in the slot throughout training camp. McClain is a veteran while Elliott is entering his second season in the NFL after arriving in Tampa as an undrafted free agent last spring.
