The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently projected to have roughly $1.7 million in available cap space for the upcoming free agency period which makes this draft and the six picks extremely important for general manager Jason Licht. All offseason there’s been rumors of potentially moving on from veteran defensive tackle Gerald McCoy to clear cap space.
If the Bucs become impressed and confident enough in whomever they draft for the interior of their defensive line it may make management more likely to cut McCoy. The Bucs can bring in-state prospects in for visits without burning any of their limited officials, Gerald Willis III will more than likely be someone the Bucs target as a potential replacement.
