The most shocking news to hit Syracuse University this week was not the Syracuse Orange football team's shocking effort against the LSU Tigers. Nor was it news of Mike Hopkins' neck brace.
Instead it was news that a development proposal for a 10-story building along South Crouse Avenue at Marshall Street would require the demolition of the four current buildings, two of which are home to Varsity Pizza and Faegan's Pub.
