Syracuse, N.Y. -- Tyler Lydon had considered a new tattoo for a couple years. He and his three brothers had already made a pact to ink something significant on their bodies, to choose a theme or parts of a theme that would bind them and remind them of the importance of family.
Sue Lydon set the parameters for these tattoos years ago during a family trip to Washington, D.C., where Tyler was playing in a youth basketball tournament. No sleeves. Nothing obvious while the boys were still in high school or college. A couple years ago, Tyler and his older brother Zach enlisted tattoo artists to inscribe a phrase akin to "born as four, live as one" on their ribs.
