Syracuse, N.Y. -- One prominent topic of conversation following Syracuse football's 36-25 loss at then-No. 25 LSU on Saturday was head coach Dino Babers decision to call an onside kick at a critical juncture in the fourth quarter.
Well, according to Babers, he didn't.
With SU trailing just 28-26 and 5:39 remaining, he and special teams coordinator Justin Lustig dialed up a "specialty kick," Babers said at his Monday press conference.
"We were trying to kick the ball deep with a specialty kick and (senior kicker Cole Murphy) just mishit it," Babers said. "That's the way it goes.
