Syracuse, N.Y. -- The contradiction toying with Taylor Gait's emotions right now is that her career with Syracuse lacrosse has seemed to last so long yet has also passed in a blink.
A terrible run of knee injuries caused that jumble. They stretched Gait's career wearing an Orange jersey to six seasons, making her something of a fixture in the women's program.
But those setbacks also made the fun of playing take on the luster of a precious jewel. Her limited number of games have fallen off the schedule far too quickly, leading to what could be the final weekend of her career as a SU midfielder.
