WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Syracuse kicker Andre Szmyt is one of the 20 semifinalists for the 2018 Lou Groza Award presented by the Orange Bowl. The list of semifinalists was released by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission on Thursday, Nov. 1.
Named for Pro Football Hall of Famer Lou "The Toe" Groza, the award is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding placekicker.
Szmyt's selection marks the third time in the last five years the Orange has had a Groza Award semifinalist. Former Orange kicker Cole Murphy was semifinalist for the award in both 2014 and 2017.
