Detroit - Matthew Moyer was responding to questions from a reporter as he sat on a chair in front of his locker in the visiting hockey team's locker room here at the Little Caesars Arena when his phone buzzed.
"Speak of the devil,'' Moyer said, turning his phone to show the name on the screen.

Moyer, a redshirt freshman at Syracuse, was getting a phone call from Michigan State's starting forward.
"He wants to talk trash,'' Moyer said with a bemused smile.
Ward and Moyer grew up near each other in Columbus, Ohio.
