The 2018-19 Syracuse Orange Women’s Ice Hockey team finally reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. Their season ended on Saturday afternoon in Madison Wisconsin as the top-seeded Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Orange 4-0 to advance to the Frozen Four.
Syracuse was a big underdog heading into the contest as the Badgers had defeated them by a combined scored of 15-2 in two previous meetings this season. The Orange exceeded expectations as they held the Badgers scoreless through the first period and had an outstanding chance to score when Abby Moloughney had a breakaway which was stopped by Wisconsin goalie Kristen Campbell.
