Syracuse women's basketball guard Alexis Peterson is getting a lot of national attention this season, and deservedly so.

Peterson has been named to the watch list for the 2017 Wade Trophy, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced on Thursday morning. The Wade Trophy is awarded annually to the nation's best women's basketball player in NCAA Division I.

A child and family studies major in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, Peterson is adding to her already impressive list of accolades this year. The Columbus, Ohio native collected Preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors and was named to the watch lists for the 2017 Nancy Lieberman Award and 2017 Naismith Trophy.
